I need some help. My grandfather, passed, was on my uncle's medical aid. When he went into hospital the account was made in my grandmother's name.

The medical aid wouldn't pay and now my grandmother, an elderly state pensioner with nothing to her name and possibly alzheimers, has been handed a summons from the sheriff of the court.

What is going to happen to her? She lives with my uncle who is a flight attendant, she literally has nothing except for her clothes and old photos, she doesn't even own a tv or radio. the bills amount to more than R30 000.

Should she file for bankruptcy? she is nearly 80 will never have credit, and hasn't had credit for more than 10 years.

i don't know what to do. she is also very ill.
