I owe just under 6K on my credit card. I want to pay this up, cut the card and close the account...however although Im able to pay each month, I always end up using the revolving credit for unplanned things that come up, like traffic fines, car maintance, etc.

Sometimes I pay 3 months, then (for example: my cars gearbox suddenly needs replacing) and I end up using what Ive paid back.

Is there anyway to freeze this account so I can only pay into it without taking the money out again until it is fully paid?
