Is There Relief? 4 Years, 1 Month ago Helpful?: 0
I was wondering - I have tried so many things - is there really someone out there that will be able to give me a consolidation loan without having to go under administration?

I obvioulsy am not coping right now with all the extra debt and it would be so wonderful if I could be paying one amount instead of several.

The things is I don't have a credit card or a homeloan - so everyone that I have approached have turned me down.

Please help

Hi Anna

Could you be more specific on what debts you have?
Type of debt and amount, would help.

There different things you can try for different types of debt.

Hi Andrew

Accounts (e.g Woolies)/Loans/Private Loans from friends and colleagues - total of around R100 000.00

Please don't judge - I know I am way over my head - I have learnt my lesson - I just need a way out!

We are all here to help one another, no one can judge another.

Before thinking of going under administration first think of the self help method.
Read this excellent article on helping yourself get out of debt: Self help
Is this an option for you?

Hi Andrew
Just did as per your advise to Anna, im afraid it wont work for me. My debts are so bad that im normally left with absolutely nothing at the end of the month, that is why i think a debt consolidation loan will help. Yes, sometimw i am left with that R1000.00 at the end of the month, but my debts are +-R75000.00 and i dont see any credit provider willing to accept r50 per month when i owe their company +-R20 000.00.
Im willing to go under administration if that's what it will take to get a debt consolidation loan, anyway, im not planning to apply for any loans, credit cards etc anytime soon I will wait till all is sorted even if it takes 5years. Im 28years old and i dont like myself and my life right now. Im so embarrased.
Please Andrew, anything else?

Hi Pene

I take it that you don't have a homeloan. This makes it very hard, almost impossible for credit providers to give you a debt consolidation loan.

A good thing you can try is to visit your creditors and explain to them your debt issues. Thus asking them for assistance in lowering the amount owed or decreasing monthly payments.
